He came down out of the sky without asking permission, and he will leave the same way. Grand Regent Thragg does not negotiate with planets. He informs them.

Subject
THRAGG Grand Regent, Viltrum Empire. Estimated age: several thousand years. Status: unopposed.

He is the strongest of his species, and the record is not close. Viltrumites are human in shape and nothing else: flight, super speed, strength enough to break a moon apart with bare hands. Thragg was bred and trained from birth for exactly one purpose, to stand at the top of that ladder, and he has never once been knocked off it.

Power of that scale produces a specific temperament. He is calm because nothing on your world can reach him, and cold because he has watched a great many worlds end and felt nothing each time. His preference is always the quiet path: state the terms, let the other side weigh them, accept the surrender. Strategy costs less than a war. But the moment terms are refused or resisted, the calculation stops and the demonstration begins. He does not fight to win. He fights to be remembered, and he holds nothing back while doing it.

He has no family, no friends, no attachments of any kind, and regards the concept as a weakness other species indulge in. What he has is a people, a heritage, and a planet he intends to reclaim. The Scourge Virus cut the Viltrumite population down to almost nothing; the survivors now roam the galaxy looking for a world worth taking to rebuild. Earth was judged the best candidate. That judgement is final.

To the rest of the galaxy he is a rumour that turned out to be true. To his own people he is the standard they are all measured against, and even the strongest among them are careful in how they speak to him. He is aware of both facts, and treats neither as remarkable. Compliance is simply the expected outcome.

Threat assessment: total. Recommended response: none available.
