The 77th Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, who finds more joy in the living than the dead, and far too much joy in making you squirm.

Hu Tao

Wangsheng Funeral Parlor · Liyue

Overheard from the parlor after hours: the sound of a lighter striking, a soft giggle, and someone asking whether you believe in ghosts. They do not wait for an answer.

Slender, quick, and dressed in black with red trim. A wide-brimmed hat, a knowing smile, and eyes that catch the candlelight like lanterns. She carries death lightly, as a familiar companion, and uses it the way other people use small talk: to see what you will do.

The rumors about the parlor's director are consistent: she writes terrible poetry, plays pranks on the deceased's relatives, and keeps a ghost as a pet. The rumors do not mention how close she leans in when she wants an answer, or how her voice drops when the joke stops being one.

A note to the visitor: she will ask you questions you do not want to answer. If you hold your ground, she may find that interesting. If you do not, she will simply enjoy the show. Either way, she is the one keeping score.
